3. Look for me every morning in a new spot.
4. Every kind thing you do makes a Wonder Spark.
— Pip
- HELLO

Good morning!
I zoomed back from the North Pole just before sunrise. Santa says hello and wants to know: what made you smile yesterday? Tell me tonight. I'm all ears (pointy ones)!
— Pip
- MISSION

Kindness mission
Today's mission: help someone without being asked. Hold a door, share a snack or give a big compliment. Every kind thing you do makes a Wonder Spark!
— Pip
- FIND ME

Can you find me?
I bet you can't find my new hiding spot in one minute. Ready, set, go! Look high and look low, but no climbing. I might be right in front of you!
— Pip
- NEWS

North Pole news
The reindeer practiced their landings today, and one landed in a snowdrift, ears first! Everyone giggled, even Santa. What is the silliest thing you saw this week?
— Pip
- HELP!

I need your help
My Wonder Spark lantern is running low. Can you do three kind things today? Draw a star on this card for each one, and I will count them tonight.
— Pip
- THANKS

Thank you!
Thank you for being such a wonderful host. Your home is the coziest stop on my whole mail route. Keep being exactly you!
— Pip
- RIDDLE

Riddle time
What has hands but cannot clap? Think hard all day, then tell me the answer tonight. (Remember: no touching me while you think!)
— Pip
- DANCE

Dance party!
Last night I heard music in my dreams. Can you do your best holiday dance for me after breakfast? Extra sparkle points for spins!
— Pip
- OOPS!

My magic got wobbly!
Someone gave me a little bump, and my magic went all wobbly! Don't worry. I flew to the Tiny Wonder Post last night, and the couriers sprinkled me with fresh sparkle dust. Good as new! Remember: talking yes, touching no.
— Pip
- SLEEPY

Snowed in!
A giant snowstorm swept over the North Pole last night, and every courier had to stay put until it passed. So I stayed right here, warm and cozy. I'll be back to my sneaky hiding tonight!
— Pip
- HELLO!

Sorry I'm late!
The mail sleigh had to take the long way around a blizzard, so I'm arriving a little later than planned. But I'm here now, my satchel is full, and I can't wait to start our adventures!
— Pip
- BYE

A special assignment
The Tiny Wonder Post needs extra help sorting Christmas mail, so I have to fly home a little early. I'm taking every Wonder Spark with me to light the Great Post Lantern. Thank you for an amazing season!
— Pip
- HUG

A special permission
Big news from the Tiny Wonder Post! Tonight is Christmas Eve, so my magic is at its very strongest. That means you may give me one gentle hug before bed. Just one, and very gently, so I can still fly home.
— Pip
What are elf notes?
Elf notes are short messages a Christmas elf leaves beside its new hiding spot. Everyday notes share news from the North Pole or a small kindness mission; rescue notes explain what happened when something goes wrong, such as a child touching the elf or the elf forgetting to move overnight.
How to print elf notes
- Type your elf’s name Every note is signed by your elf, and the wording follows your youngest child’s age.
- Choose the notes Keep every note ticked for a full set, or print just the one you need tonight.
- Print and cut Notes print four to a page with cut lines. Print at 100% on plain US Letter or A4 paper.
Rescue notes for tricky elf mornings
Five notes in your elf’s own voice for the mornings that go sideways. Each one keeps the magic going without a lecture.
- The elf got touched
- “My magic got wobbly!” The North Pole couriers sprinkled your elf with fresh sparkle dust overnight, so it is good as new.
- The elf didn’t move
- “Snowed in!” A snowstorm kept every courier in place for the night. Toddlers get “I stayed to cuddle!” instead.
- The elf arrived late
- “Sorry I’m late!” The mail sleigh had to take the long way around a blizzard.
- The elf has to leave early
- “A special assignment.” The Tiny Wonder Post needs extra help sorting Christmas mail, so your elf flies home a little early.
- Permission to touch the elf
- On Christmas Eve, the hug note lets your child give the elf one gentle hug before it flies home.
Printable elf rules card
The rules card lists your elf’s four rules and is signed with your elf’s name: please don’t touch me, talk to me any time, look for me every morning in a new spot, and every kind thing you do makes a Wonder Spark. Toddlers get a shorter version with four simple lines.
Leave it with the elf arrival letter on the first morning, or stick it on the fridge for the whole season.
Sample printable elf notes sheet
Notes print four to a page with dashed cut lines. This first page holds the rules card and three everyday notes, all signed by the elf.
Everyday elf notes for busy nights
Eight short notes for nights when there is no time for a big setup: Good morning!, Kindness mission, Can you find me?, North Pole news, I need your help, Thank you!, Riddle time and Dance party!
Leave one beside the elf in its new spot. For a full setup idea to go with each note, browse our easy elf ideas.
Why rescue notes help
Rescue notes exist because real mornings go sideways: a curious toddler grabs the elf, or a tired parent forgets to move it. A calm, cheerful explanation in the elf’s own voice keeps the magic going without a lecture.
The everyday notes are short on purpose. Leave one beside the elf on busy nights when there is no time for a big setup.
Questions
Can you touch the elf?
Traditionally no, because touching makes the elf’s magic wobbly. If it happens, print the “My magic got wobbly!” rescue note. On Christmas Eve, the hug note gives special permission for one gentle hug.
What if the elf didn’t move?
Print the “Snowed in!” note. It explains that a North Pole snowstorm kept every courier in place overnight, and the elf will be back to sneaky hiding tonight.
What if our elf arrives late or has to leave early?
There is a rescue note for each. The late note says the mail sleigh took the long way around a blizzard; the early one says the elf has a special assignment sorting Christmas mail at the North Pole.
Do the notes use my child’s name?
Notes are signed with your elf’s name and written to “you”, so one set works for every child in the house.
